Abstract
The main objective of this study was the biological characterization of the Condagua Indigenous Reserve, located in the Amazonian foothills of the municipality of Mocoa, Putumayo (Colombia), during Phase I. The research was conducted between March and May 2025, using a comprehensive methodological strategy that included systematic sampling of herpetofauna, mammalogy (bats), avifauna, flora, ichthyofauna, and entomofauna. Standardized techniques were applied for each taxonomic group, such as visual transects, Sherman traps, mist nets, sampling in water bodies, entomological traps, and 4 m² botanical plots. Throughout the three sampling stations established, the traditional knowledge of the Inga people was actively integrated, strengthening the intercultural approach of the process.
Description
This report presents the work carried out during the first semester of 2025 within the framework of the research project on biological characterization in areas of environmental interest of the SIRGEAM research seedbed. This academic and experiential experience focused on the collection, observation, classification, and interpretation of species inhabiting the Condagua Indigenous Reserve, located in the rural area of Mocoa, Putumayo. The fundamental purpose of the project was to document the first phase of the flora and fauna species inventory in the area of influence of the Condagua reserve, promoting the recognition of its importance as a space for biodiversity and cultural heritage. The research focused on making visible not only the ecological elements of the territory but also its historical evolution, current challenges in environmental and cultural conservation, and the tensions derived from resource exploitation on ancestral lands.
